Flag of Romania

Brief History of the Flag of Romania

The flag of Romania is a tricolor flag composed of three vertical stripes of equal width: blue, yellow, and red, from left to right. The colors red, yellow, and blue have long been used by Romanians as their symbol, or by foreigners to represent them. The oldest written record dates back to April 14, 535 A.D.

Meaning of the colors:
– Blue: Represents freedom and loyalty.
– Yellow: Symbolizes wealth and justice.
– Red: Reflects the courage and sacrifice of the Romanian people.

The flag of Romania is very similar to the flag of Moldova, with which it shares historical and cultural ties. It is also very similar to the flag of Chad (differing only in the shade of blue), although they have no relation, and to the flag of Andorra.
